Which tent is best: Refurbished, New, Used, Block out and Non Block out out what is the difference?
In the world of tent manufacturing, many things happen to tents on the production line. While most tops are stamped with a seal of approval and shipped as a new top to our customers, sometimes there is that one top or sidewall that will get caught on the sewing machine or will get burnt on on one of sealing machines or will have an operator error defect that will have to be repaired. These tents are called refurbished.
New Tops
New Tops are tops that have no defects. These tops are regular price.
Refurbished or A Grade
We call refurbished products which are tents or sidewalls that somewhere in the production line have gotten damaged or not quite made right. All of these tops are new and have never been used outside or have never been set up. While this does not happen on our lines a lot we do pull them to the side and access what has happened or what we can do to fix it. Sometimes it is as easy as resealing, maybe a seal line did not hold, sometimes if it was a small burn that we can put a patch on, or sometimes it is a small as an extra seal line. When we have these available we are unable to sale them as new so they get the term refurbished.
Used or B Grade
Used or B Grade tents are nice but with some color fading and minor scuffing, stains, and repairs may be present. Pin-holes to be sealed with filler, repairs with some permanent and a few temporary patches. These tents while being set up in the field have been taken care of. Normally they would still be white and clean maybe some dirty spots. We sometimes have customers that will try a tent to see if they fit the existing frame or one that has pinholes or very slight defects.
Used or C Grade Tents
Used or C Grade tents are commercial grade tents. These tents are structurally sound but will be faded or have discolorations or spots on them. May have a number of pin-holes and repairs, some with temporary patching. These tents are most commonly used for fairs, animal or equipment storage, auctions or weather protection when appearance is not a consideration.
Block out or Non Block Out
Tent sections also come in blockout and non block out vinyl. Non Block Out Vinyl allows light to be seen inside the tent which gives a lighter appearance to the inside of the tent. Block our vinyl is a heavier vinyl used to keep the
